Warm Earthy Organic Florals | Lark, Ironworks at Pencoyd Landing

Aesthetic: Earthy Modern Florals

As a professional wedding florist, you tend to get to know the traditional venues where couples around the Philadelphia area like to get married. There are plenty of farms, historic manors, and golf courses that we've been privileged to get to know well, so when a couple provides the opportunity to work somewhere new, it's always a fun challenge to dream in a new space.

It was an absolute pleasure to work with Patti and Mike at their stunning wedding venue, Lark, in Bala Cynwyd. Nestled in the heart of the city, Lark is a hidden gem, combining modern aesthetics with a touch of rustic charm.

It's located at the riverfront destination of Ironworks at Pencoyd Landing, a testament to the history and craftsmanship of the local community.

The venue offered a picturesque ironwork backdrop for Patti and Mike's outdoor ceremony. The old iron foundry elements beautifully contrasted against the verdant surroundings, adding a unique flair to the setting that brims with natural beauty.

For Patti and Mike's vision, our design palette was inspired by the surroundings, with a focus on lush greens and clean whites, punctuated by dashes of vivid colors. We used a variety of greenery, including eucalyptus, smilax, rosemary, magnolia leaves, olive leaves, ferns, and moss. These green elements served as the foundation of our designs, with the florals acting as an accent that highlighted the beauty of the greenery and the venue itself.

The ceremony space was adorned with two asymmetrical flower pillars that incorporated tones of gold, orange, pink, and burgundy. This unique touch added depth and warmth to the space. The distinct asymmetry of the pillars created a visually stunning effect against the suspended ironworks, making for a memorable view as Patti and Mike exchanged their vows.

As the couple walked back down the aisle, we added a unique touch by providing guests with paper cones filled with loose greens to throw. This gave the moment an organic, natural feel, while also encouraging guests to engage in the celebration.

The reception was held in the restaurant space at Lark, which allowed us to repurpose the floral pillars, ensuring nothing went to waste. These pillars, along with the round centerpieces and floral frogs with freestanding stems, complemented the space beautifully, combining to create a harmonious design that was both modern and inviting.

The organic floral designs warmed up the beautifully neutral space and its clean lines. I loved seeing the warm tones against the sleek woods inside the interior of Lark. We were able to use our expertise in floral design to create a cohesive and breathtaking atmosphere that flowed with the venue. From the elegant bouquets to the intricate centerpieces, every detail was thoughtfully crafted to bring the couple's vision to life.

Working on Patti and Mike's wedding at Lark at the Ironworks at Pencoyd Landing was an incredible experience. Seeing their joy as they walked through the space, surrounded by our floral designs, was truly rewarding.

We are always excited to explore new venues and bring our clients' dreams to reality, and Lark was no exception. As we continue to expand our portfolio of weddings at unique locations, we look forward to future collaborations with wedding venues like Lark.
